DRUGACE-S TABLET
For Clear Result in
Pain & Inflammation
Composition:
Each film coated tablet contains:
Aceclofenac 100mg, Paracetamol 325mg, Serratiopeptidase 15mg
ACECLOFENAC:
It is a phenyl acetic acid derivative showing effective anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, and a good tolerability profile in a variety of painful conditions. Aceclofenac has been shown to exert effects on many mediators of inflammation. It inhibits synthesis of the inflammatory cytokines interleukin-1b and tumour necrosis factor, and inhibits prostaglandin E2 production. In vitro data indicate inhibition of cyclo-oxygenase by aceclofenac in whole blood assays, with selectivity for COX-2 being evident. A unique feature of aceclofenac’s pharmacology is that it, unlike diclofenac and some other NSAIDs, stimulates glycosaminoglycans (GAG) synthesis.
Indications of ACECLOFENAC:
For the relief of pain and inflammation in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis.
Contra-Indications:
Hypersensitivity, GI bleeding, moderate to severe renal impairment, last three months of pregnancy
Special Precautions:
Patients with GI disease, history of peptic ulceration, cerebrovascular bleeding, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, systemic lupus erythmatosus, porphyria, hematopoietic or coagulation disorders. The dose should be reduced in patients with mild to moderate hepatic, renal or cardiac function impairment.
Side Effects:
Indigestion, heartburn, dyspepsia, diarrhoea, nausea, abdominal pain and flatulence.
Drug Interactions:
Aceclofenac may increase the plasma conc. of lithium and digoxin. Aceclofenac may inhibit the activity of diuretics. Activity of anticoagulants may be enhanced. Convulsions may occur due to interaction between quinolones and NSAIDs.
PARACETAMOL:
(Acetaminophen)Paracetamol is a valuable central analgesic but weak peripheral anti-inflammatory agent & exhibits good & prompt antipyretic action. It does not stimulate respiration, or alter acid base balance & causes less gastric irritation & have no effect on cellular metabolism or clotting factors. It is not uricosuric.
Indications of PARACETAMOL:
Pain, fever.
Special Precautions:
Renal and hepatic impairment.
Side Effects:
Nausea, Rashes, leukopenia is rare.
Drug Interactions:
Enhances oral anticoagulant activity. Absorption increased by metoclopramide. Absorption reduced by pethidine, propanthline. Alcohol (chronic use) potentiates hepatotoxicity by paracetamol.
SERRATIOPEPTIDASE:
It improves aggravated circulation in the inflammatory focus by breaking down abnormal exudates and protein and by promoting the absorption of the decomposed products through the blood and lymphatic vessels. It also accelerates the elimination of sputum, pus and haematoma by breaking down the liquifying mucus secretions and fibrin clots. Another major useful action being increased concentration of antibiotics in the focus of infection.
Indications of SERRATIOPEPTIDASE:
Inflammation after operation and traumatic injury. Inflammation in sinusitis, Engorgement of the breast. Cystitis, epididymitis. Pericoronitis of the Wisdom tooth, alveolar abscess. Inadequate expectoration of sputum in Bronchitis, pulmonary tuberculosis, bronchial asthma & after anaesthesia.
Contra-Indications:
Blood coagulation abnormalities.
Special Precautions:
Severe hepatic and renal disturbances or under treatment with anticoagulants. Paediatrics: Use with caution. Pregnancy: Use with caution. Lactation: Use with caution. Elderly: Use with caution.
Side Effects:
G.I. disturbances like anorexia, gastric discomfort and nausea. Discontinue if hypersensitive symptoms such as eruption appear.
Drug Interactions:
None reported.
